1915 INVITATION CHINESE ENVOY TO PAN PACIFIC EXPOSITION KAI FU SHAH + EPHEMERA

Description

For sale is an exceedingly scarce invitation to a reception hosted by China's top representative to the 1915 Pan Pacific Exposition, Kai Fu Shah, Envoy Extraordinary and Minister Plenipotentiary of the Republic of China. Folded card invitation boasts a gilt embossed Pan Pacific logo, and comes with its original envelope, which has paper glued to the front where it was taken out of a scrapbook. Lot also retains a a card the attendee was supposed to present for entry to the event and a "Function Auto Permit" that allowed the user's chauffeur to enter at the Lyon St. entrance after 6pm, as well as re-enter the grounds to pick up his passengers. A superb example of this scarce invitation.
