    Description

Souvenir/advertising postcard related to the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco.
Issued as advertising by the Key Route interurban railway system, promoting their “Key Route Inn” as a logical place to stay while attending the event.
Issued shortly after "Borax" Smith lost control of the business due to financial difficulties (to say the least), it may have been part of an attempt by the new management to
rebuild the fortunes of the System.  This card carries the Official PPIE Seal, so a license from the Exposition Company must have been issued for this, although I assume that it was not specifically sold or released on the Expo grounds themselves.
An very scarce PPIE-related card and cross collectible Railroadiana subject.  It came from an accumulation out of the estate of a longtime employee of the West. Union Telegraph Co. who may have been stationed in the Bay Area at the time.  Postally unused, sound and very clean other than the minor penciled notation of “E.L.” (removable). Minor corner touches only.
