Description
NEW HOLLAND SEAL KIT, AFTER-MARKET, FITS 452, 462, 463 DISC MOWERS -- 10 piece seal kit.*** Also fits some cylinders on John Deere and Kuhn disc mowers ***
New Holland has never provided a seal kit for the hydraulic cylinder on their 400 series disc mower models. These cylinders are one way cylinders and they have an air vent cap on the one end. If oil starts squirting out when you fold up the mower, then you know that your cylinder needs to be resealed. Once your cylinder started leaking, New Holland's solution was to just replace the cylinder with a new one.
This is a much better alternative!
This is a high quality seal repair kit that contains all the seals you will need to repair your cylinder. Our mechanics have used these in our New Holland dealership for years.
NOTE: REVISED SEAL KIT - JULY 2020 -- Some cylinders may use a 3/8" wide gray wear ring that is pictured on the piston above. Due to vendor supply issues, the 3/8" wear ring is not currently available. We are including 2 3/16" wide wear rings to be used in the place of the 3/8" wear ring (3/16 + 3/16 = 6/16 = 3/8). Not all cylinders may use this wide wear ring so this may not affect you. The other option is to reuse your existing 3/8 " wear ring, if your cylinder has one. The wear rings are not seals and do not affect the sealing of the cylinder, rather they are just guides or slides for the piston which has the seals.
NOTE: This seal kit will not fit the 442 cylinder or the cylinder on the 465 disc mower! Double check your model!
NOTE #2: Some cylinders may have the brown felt seal on the end of the piston; we do not have this available and it is not included in our seal kit. Reuse your old one if you can or discard it. In addition, the gray nylon guide ring in the middle of the piston that we include sometimes does not fit well: ours is sometimes just a few
thousandths
too large in diameter. If this is the case, you can also
reuse
you old guide ring. The
end-gap
shown will have no effect on the
performance
of the cylinder.
This kit contains some extra seals that your cylinder may not require. This is due to some internal differences in the types of seals used on some cylinders. With no way to externally identify these cylinders, the solution is to include either size of seals you may need.
