DESCRIPTION :
This listing is for a very neat old souvenir pocket watch from the 1915 Panama Pacific International Exposition and a watch fob made of carved shell on a leather strap engraved San Diego on the front with a sail boat and on the back with the original owners initials and 1915.
This cool old silver plated pocket watch has a wonderful embossed back cover that shows an art nouveau lady standing on the world amongst the river with ships with a background of stars and stripes.
It has a beveled glass crystal.
I have seen many things from this fair but have never seen this particular item.
There is wear, scuffs and scratches to this case.
The watch runs on and off.
There is a bit of rust on the top part of dial near rim under the glass.
This actually still looks very nice for the age.
This is probably the equivalent to a size 16 pocket watch.
It is about 2 inches across.
I could not get the back open to see the movement but I would guess that this is just a dollar watch from back then.
Since this watch runs on and off it is being sold AS-IS.
This watch and fob go great together or could be changed out with a fob actually from the fair.
I would guess that this watch if hard to find if not rare since I have not seen one before.
