Description
A pair of souvenir postcards issued by the Japanese Imperial Railways for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco. High quality cards on very heavy stock, the image surface is done in a "linen" style meant to suggest a fabric such as that commonly used for Japanese screens. While not specifically marked as such, the back printing is similar to that of the "Phostint" cards produced by Detroit Publishing, which suggest they printed these for the Japanese Government. Postally unused, VERY light signs of wear from storage - about as close to Gem Mint New as you can get for a Century old card (small stain on one card as shown). Scarce and not commonly seen, especially this nice.A purchase from this listing gets you both PC shown - please note that any return necessary must be of all PC in a particular lot as shipped, no partial returns.
