The combination of carbide steel and ZrN coating makes this endmill optimum for cutting aluminum and other soft alloys. Carbide steel lasts and stays sharp longer, while ZrN coating adds improved performance, lubricity, and moves chips and material away from the cutting edge much faster than end mills without ZrN coating. This is a SIGNIFICANT upgrade to standard uncoated end mills for the same price.
